What is a Life Coach?

Let’s answer this question by first defining what a life coach is not! A life coach is not a counsellor, nor a psychologist. They are not a psychotherapist nor a medical practitioner. A life coach does not dwell on past events but rather, we focus on the future. A life coach is not a sounding board for constant complaining nor are they a source of validation for a victim mentality or a shoulder to cry on (certainly there may be tears from an emotional release – that’s both allowed and welcomed). As a life coach, I provide a safe and supportive space for teenagers to explore their goals, their dreams and aspirations. A life coach is dedicated to empowering teenagers to overcome obstacles and to develop essential life skills. A life coach can help with implementing good habits and changing bad habits and can help teenagers to build a strong foundation for a successful future.
